SCA patient revenue up 4.9%, USPI acquisition activity & more – 5 recent ASC company key notes

Here are five recent news updates on ambulatory surgery center companies.

Surgical Care Affiliate's system-wide net patient revenue per case increased 4.9 percent from the second quarter of 2013. The growth in system-wide revenue was driven by acquisitions, changes in case volume and changes in certain payer contract rates.

Symbion's operating income rose from $13.2 million in the second quarter of 2013 to $22.3 million in the second quarter of this year.

United Surgical Partners International acquired three facilities during the second quarter of 2014 and two additional centers after the quarter's close. The company intends to add five to 10 more facilities before year's end.
 
Northstar Healthcare filed a Form 10 Registration Statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing was made in preparation for Northstar common shares to be listed on a U.S. national exchange.

Tenet Healthcare stock traded at $60.59 per share during the week of Aug. 18 to 22, up 3.4 percent.
