2. Despite the decline in patients, primary care physicians experienced a net revenue increase of 3 percent or more from their patients in 2014.

3. In non-Medicaid expansion states, primary care physicians witnessed a 1.3 percent reduction in patient visits.

4. Surgeons, on the other hand, experienced a 3.5 increase in patient visits in non-Medicaid expansion states. Surgeons practicing in Medicaid expansion states witnessed a 1 percent increase in 2014.

5. Despite the increasing patient visits, surgeons in nonexpanding states had a 4 percent increase in collections in 2014. Surgeons in expansion states had a 2 percent increase in collections.
