1. Bill Popp, the president of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, said the healthcare sector added 5,000 jobs in the last decade.
2. The AEDC's economic forecast predicts healthcare will add 300 jobs in 2016.
3. Medicaid expansion will aid this growth in the healthcare industry.
4. However, the AEDC also concluded the Anchorage healthcare landscape is precarious due to long-term effects of the Affordable Care Act and the state's budget deficit.
