In November 2015, U.S. health spending was up 5 percent compared to the same time the year prior, according to the Health Sector Economic Indicators briefs by Altarum Institute's Center for Sustainable Health Spending.
Here are four observations:
1. The health spending share of gross domestic product nearly reached 18 percent.
2. In November 2015, healthcare prices proved 1.1 percent higher than the year prior.
3. Year-over-year hospital prices increased by 1.4 percent.
4. In December 2015, the healthcare industry added 39,400 jobs. Throughout 2015, hospitals received the most new employees.
