Statement lag is an important benchmark because patients are taking on increasing financial responsibility, according to Regent RCM.
Three insights:
1. Statement lag is the time it takes centers to generate a statement after receiving information on how much the patient owes.
2. Regent RCM advises ASCs to send out statements less than five days after receiving that information from payers.
3. The sooner patients receive their statements, the quicker they can pay their bills.
