Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health is consolidating its separate computer systems for billing and medical records in an attempt to increase administrative efficiency, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
The consolidation should streamline physical billing work and increase what patients can do online. However, Sutter has warned its patients this may mean longer wait times than usual during December while the transition takes place.
In addition to viewing test results, renewing prescriptions and getting health reminders online, patients will now be able to schedule appointments and pay bills.
