Survey: 96% of Healthcare Officials Worried About ICD-10 Impact

With the ICD-10 implementation just more than one year away, 96 percent of physicians, administrators and billers are concerned about the switch's impact, according to a recent Nuesoft Technologies survey of 480 people.

Sixty percent of respondents said they are "significantly" or "highly" concerned. In comparison, when surveyed in January about the adoption of ANSI 5010, 64 percent of people said it had a negative impact on their practice. Three month's after the 5010 switch, the people surveyed were split 50/50 as to whether or not they were upset by the change.

The recent survey shows 73 percent of people anticipate ICD-10 will negatively impact their operations and finances as well of their state of mind.
