Jeff Blankinship, president of Surgical Notes, a provider of transcription, coding and other related IT services for the ambulatory surgery center and surgical hospital markets, has announced he will launch a new business entity dedicated to educating employers, health plans, third-party administrators and the public about the role of ASCs and surgical hospitals in the healthcare delivery system.
The company, Surgery Center Network, will also bring together providers and consumers to improve the quality of healthcare across the country. The Surgery Center Network will highlight and promote ASCs and surgical hospitals to health plans, employers and the general public, and these stakeholders will use SCN to research the cost and quality of procedures performed at ASCs and surgical hospitals.
SCN will serve as a source for information on high-quality providers performing cost-effective procedures for the commercial self-funded, workers' compensation and private-pay segments of the healthcare industry, and will bring ASCs and surgical hospitals the incremental patient volume they need and desire.
"Health plans, employers and patients are seeking transparency in pricing, and are utilizing consumerism tools to find high-quality providers at lower cost points. SCN will put ASCs and surgical hospitals squarely in their crosshairs," said Mr. Blankinship. "SCN is a high-performance, specialty carve-out network that will marry up ASCs and surgical hospitals with patient volume from group health third-party administrators, employer groups, workers' comp carriers and private-pay patients. We're developing the largest network of ASCs and surgical hospitals. Through SCN, we will bring choice to outpatient care, and do it through quality medicine with pricing transparency."
SCN is in the final stages of development and will be released to the general public in the near future. It will be hosted at www.SurgeryCenterNetwork.com. To learn more about SCN, contact info@surgerycenternetwork.com.
