Patients at Nashville Surgery Centers May Face Higher OON Prices

UnitedHealthcare and Saint Thomas Health Services have extended by two weeks a contract that allows United members to continue in-network access to Saint Thomas' medical facilities, a decision that affects patients of at least three surgery centers, according to a Tennessean report.

The outpatient facilities affected include the Eye Surgery Center of Nashville, Baptist Ambulatory Care and Saint Thomas Outpatient Neurosurgical Center. UnitedHealthcare notified 9,256 local commercial and Medicare members that they would face higher OON prices at Saint Thomas properties if a new agreement could not be reached.

The parties have two weeks to negotiate before in-network rules change.
