A new report shows uncertainty about Medicare sustainable growth rate payment cuts has kept physicians from participating in new payment and delivery methods, according to Healthcare Finance News.
The Medical Group Management Association conducted a survey from 1,000 group practices and 26,000 physicians. Of the respondents, 18 percent reported they were participating in a new Medicare payment delivery model or demonstration. Those who are not participating cited the lack of predictability in current Medicare payments as the main barrier.
Eighty-two percent of participants said they would be likely to explore these new methods if stability were restored to the system.
