Indiana-based physician billing management company Zotec Partners has expanded operations by acquiring Medical Business Service, a medical billing firm based in Florida, according to an Indianapolis Business Journal report.
Medical Business Service is among the largest privately-owned medical billing providers for hospital-based physicians, with clients in 10 states, including Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. The company has 100 employees and is based in Coral Gables, Fla.
In May 2010, Medical Business Service hired Zotec to provide technology services, including claims transmission and electronic data interchanges. According to Medical Business Service President Bing Herald, the sale of the company was a natural outgrowth of that partnership.
