Though the transition took some adjusting to, the practice quickly reaped the benefits of a successful implementation.
To evaluate the success of their EHRs, physicians should look at documentation, job reassignment, ease of use, productivity and staff complaints. An effective system will free up employee's time to do more productive tasks. If problems persist in these areas after a few months, it may be worth reevaluating the system.
