The Alabama Department of Labor revised the 2018 workers' compensation fee schedule for ASCs.
Here are four notes.
1. The revisions include prevailing rates and maximum fees for 42 surgery centers. The schedule covers discount rates.
2. Sixteen surgery centers agreed to a maximum reimbursement of cost plus 10 percent for hardware, implants and prosthesis used in authorized workers' compensation outpatient surgery cases that cost over $200.
3. The department also revised fee schedules for hospitals. Rates were unchanged from 2017 for most hospitals, but increased slightly for several, according to workcompcentral.com.
