After having its accreditation downgraded in May, Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle regained its Joint Commission certification, The Seattle Times reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. The center's accreditation was at "contingent" after a visit in May found that it was out of compliance in 29 areas, none of which were life threatening.
2. The center's accreditation was never fully denied.
3. The center regained full accreditation after the Joint Commission re-inspected it in September.
