The Joint Commission re-accredits CVS Health's MinuteClinic for 5th time — 3 insights

The Joint Commission renewed CVS Health's MinuteClinic Gold Seal of Approval for Ambulatory Health Care for the fifth consecutive time.

Here's what you should know:

1. The Joint Commission first accredited MinuteClinic in 2006. It was the first retail clinic provider to earn The Joint Commission accreditation, nationally. .

2. The accreditation applies to 1,100 MinuteClinics in 33 states and Washington, D.C. The clinics are in Target and CVS Pharmacy locations.

3. MinuteClinic Executive Director and The Joint Commission Senior Vice President Sharon Vitti said, "MinuteClinic is incredibly proud to have again received The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. This reaccreditation validates that we are delivering on our commitment to provide high-quality clinical care and to follow rigorous safety standards at all MinuteClinic locations across the country."
