Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, of Marshfield, Wis., recently received accreditation, Hub City Times reports. Here is what you need to know.
1. The hospital was accredited as a comprehensive care center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
2. The center had to meet certain criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure and for several protocols for care. The center also participates in a national data registry that focused on continuous improvement.
3. Bariatric surgeons Vijaya Nirujogi, MD, and Julio Bird, MD, each earned the title MBSAQIP verified surgeons.
