Joint Commission Adds Section to Website on "High Reliability"

The Joint Commission has announced the addition of a new section to its website dedicated to "High Reliability - Consistent Excellence."

The Joint Commission defines high reliability as consistent excellence over long periods of time.

The new section, found under the "Topics" tab, will feature a variety of information for organizations aspiring to high reliability, according to The Joint Commission.

The first three resources found in the section are as follows:

  • Health Affairs article, written by Drs. Mark Chassin and Jerod Loeb, titled "The Ongoing Quality Improvement Journey: Next Stop, High Reliability"
  • Replay of Dr. Chassin's recent speech at IHI's 22nd Annual National Forum on high reliability
  • Brochure titled "Creating Solutions for High Reliability Health Care" from the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare
