The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care has accredited Johnston Medical Centers in Smithfield and Clayton, N.C., as chest pain centers.
Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield, also accredited by the Joint Commission, recently completed a new, $62 million patient tower.
Johnston Medical Center-Clayton was created when state regulators gave Johnston Health permission to move 27 acute care beds. The $30 million medical center is currently working towards becoming a full service hospital.
