The Medical Board of California approved the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program as an accreditation agency for ASCs in the state.
Here are five quick notes.

2. HFAP met all application requirements, including accreditation standards and payment of renewal fees.
3. HFAP already held deeming authority for ASCs from CMS, allowing the accreditation program to assess surgery centers' compliance with the Medicare Conditions for Coverage.
4. HFAP also possesses deeming authority for clinical laboratories, acute care hospitals and critical access hospitals.
5. HFAP is launching a joint arthroplasty certification in June. The organization also offers certification programs for lithotripsy services and wound care.
