Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program has announced that the American Osteopathic Association's Board of Trustees has approved the recommendation that hospitals accredited by HFAP and/or hospitals with AOA-approved training programs may now apply to be recognized as an AOA Category 1 CME Sponsor.
AOA Category 1 CME Sponsors are eligible to award AOA Category 1-A and Category 1-B CME credits for various CME activities based on current guidelines of the AOA, , according a blog post on the HFAP website.
Category 1-A may be awarded for formal programs, formal educational lectures, grand rounds (when submitted as a series), clinical didactic teaching (class room style) and Category 1-B credit for preceptoring osteopathic medical students.
