DaVita Hospital reaccredited by the Joint Commission: 4 notes

Davita Kidney Care recently was reaccredited for ambulatory health care by the Joint Commision.

Here's what you need to know.

1. The center is the first dialysis organization to secure the re-accreditation.

2. DaVita was able, for the first time, to systematically monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of care they provided.

3. DaVita was reaccredited after a vetting process that involved two-and-a-half months of surveys at more than 156 DaVita inpatient dialysis sites.

4. For the past three years, DaVita identified key areas for improvement, trained staff through presentations, documents and web training and then coordinated 156 hospital site visits for Joint Commission surveyors and DaVita teammates.
