Alcohol Sanitizer With Viacydin Effective and Safe in Hand Hygiene Protocol

Study results showed alcohol sanitizer containing viacydin improves antimicrobial efficacy and is well-tolerated by users, according to research published in AJIC Journal.

Over the course of three weeks, researchers compared the efficacy of VCAS on the skin with that of other hand hygiene products. Outcomes that were measured included antimicrobial range, immediate kill rates, resistance development and continued antimicrobial efficacy following product use.

Results showed VCAS was significantly more effective than other hand hygiene products in eliminating pathogen contamination, was safe and well-tolerated by users and was effective for up to six hours after use.
