The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care has revised language in the 2012 Accreditation Handbook Including Medicare Requirements for Ambulatory Surgery Centers to better reflect survey policies effective in November.
As all Medicare surveys are required to be unannounced, AAAHC is removing all published language that indicates a 90-day survey window but will continue to accept five blackout dates. Six sections in the handbook have been revised to reflect this policy.
