AAAHC Announces Board of Officers for 2011-2012

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) has announced its new board officers for 2011-2012, according to a news release.

 

Jack Egnatinsky, MD, will serve as president. He is a board-certified anesthesiologist who has held a number of academic and clinical leadership positions within his specialty. He is an instructor for the AAAHC Surveyor Training Program, has served as a medical director for AAAHC and is on the board of directors for the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement. He represents the Ambulatory Surgery Foundation on the AAAHC Board.

 

Karen McKellar will serve as vice president. She represents the Medical Group Management Association on the board. She served as chair of the AAAHC Accreditation Committee from 2005-2009. She previously was a senior administrator for the Lake Chelan Clinic in Chelan, Wash., and associate director of the Hall Health Primary Care Center at the University of Washington in Seattle.

 

Margaret Spear, MD, will serve as treasurer. She has worked in a college health setting for more than 28 years and has been at Pennsylvania State University since 1990. Prior to working in college health, she worked as a physician at various settings, including a hospital and a medical group practice. She currently serves as chair of the AAAHC Accreditation Committee and has been a surveyor for the AAAHC since 1994. She represents the American College Health Association.\

 

Lawrence S. Kim, MD, FACG, will serve as secretary. He has chaired the AAAHC Surveyor Training and Education committee and is an AAAHC surveyor. He is a managing partner of South Denver Gastroenterology PC, a 19-provider practice in the Denver metropolitan area. Mr. Kim recently was elected to the governing board of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). He represents the AGA on the AAAHC Board.

 

"The AAAHC Board oversees the direction of AAAHC and the development of accreditation standards that are the basis for high quality ambulatory patient care," said John Burke, PhD executive vice president and CEO of AAAHC, in the news release. "We look forward to working with these outstanding individuals in the coming year as we expand the accomplishments of our previous leadership."
