Triangle Endoscopy Center, of Durham, N.C., recently was accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care. Here's what you should know.
1. The center has four GI endoscopy procedure rooms, 14 solid wall preparation and recovery bays and a covered pick-up area for discharged patients.
2. There are seven physicians who have privileges at the center, and they perform several services including colonoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies and upper endoscopies.
3. The center is the only endoscopy center in Durham County participating in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina global fee plan.
Most patients will not incur deductible or coinsurance costs, which results in considerable savings to the patient.
4. The center is also a member of AMSURG's Stop Colon Cancer Now campaign. It works with a network of more than 1,000 gastroenterologists nationwide to promote education and raise awareness of colon cancer screening and prevention.
