AAAASF Develops Accreditation Standards for Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) has announced the development of new accreditation standards designed specifically for oral maxillofacial surgeons.

The standards were developed with the assistance of two oral maxillofacial surgeons from New York — David A. Behrman, DMD, and Joel Friedman, DDS — according to a AAAASF news release.

"I am proud of the collaboration we enjoyed with Dr. Behrman and Dr. Friedman, two fine oral maxillofacial surgeon specialists who have provided their expertise in crafting the new standards," said Dr. Harlan Pollock, AAAASF president, in the release. "With their help and the assistance of others from the N.Y. State Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, we have already experienced tremendous interest by many of their associates."

The complete set of oral maxillofacial surgery standards is available for free at www.aaaasf.org.
