The American Society of Anesthesiologists has re-affirmed its strong support for a full repeal of the Sustainable Growth Rate, as Congress continues its deliberation over the payment model.

ASA further advocated tying payment fixes to the immediate repeal of the Independent Payment Advisory Board, a board created under the federal healthcare reform law and granted the power to mandate Medicare payment cuts.
