Donald Penning, MD, has been appointed to become Denver Health's director of anesthesiology, replacing John Lockrem, MD, who retired last year, according to a Denver Health news release.
Dr. Penning joins Denver Health from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami, where he served as chief of obstetric anesthesia at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
As the director of anesthesiology at Denver Health, Dr. Penning will be responsible for overseeing anesthesia services at Denver Health Medical Center and managing a staff of 27 certified nurse anesthetists and 16 anesthesiologists.
