7 Recent Anesthesia Practice Acquisitions

The following anesthesia practice acquisitions took place in the past 30 days, beginning with the most recent.

1. Healthcare technology company Intermedix Corporation acquired Anesthesia Revenue Management, a management service for anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists.

2. Knoxville, Tenn.-based TeamHealth acquired Northern Valley Anesthesiology, a provider of services to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and five ambulatory surgery centers in New Jersey.

3. U.S. Anesthesia Partners acquired Greater Houston Anesthesiology, which will serve as USAP's cornerstone affiliated practice. USAP offers practice management services to anesthesiologists and is backed by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. 

4. MEDNAX acquired Anesthesiologists Associated in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Pediatric Surgical and Associates of Plano, Texas. Anesthesiologists Associated is a private physician group practice, and Pediatric Surgical and Associates is a pediatric surgery physician group.

5. MEDNAX acquired South Oakland Anesthesia Associates of Troy, Mich., which provides anesthesia services to three hospitals, four ambulatory surgery centers, one eye center and four pain management centers.

6. North American Partners in Anesthesia, a single specialty anesthesia and management company, acquired two additional practices, Northeast Anesthesiology in Scranton, Pa., and Anesthesiology Solution in Honesdale, Pa.

7. Medicines Company, a drug maker for hospitals acquired Incline Therapeutics, a company developing a device to manage post-operative pain.
