In a unanimous vote, The Kohler (Wis.) Village Board approved a predevelopment agreement between the Village of Kohler and Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, according to MySheboygan.com.
Here are five key points.
1. Aurora Health Care signed a letter of intent with manufacturing company Kohler Company in April, thereby allowing Aurora Healthcare to build a new surgery center and hospital in the Village of Kohler.
2. The ASC and hospital would sit on a property that Kohler Company owns in the Village of Kohler.
3. As per the predevelopment agreement, Aurora Health Care will pay for additional expenses the Village of Kohler may accrue from the ASC and hospital plans.
4. The hospital and ASC have a projected cost of $324 million and will create construction jobs in the region.
5. Aurora anticipates opening the ASC and hospital in 2021. The facility will replace the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center in the village.
