COVID-19 vaccine news update

A summary of significant developments in the last week:

1. Three in 10 parents of children ages 12 to 15 said they would get their child vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as they're eligible, according to survey results released May 6 by Kaiser Family Foundation.

2. Pfizer plans to apply in September for emergency authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine to be given to children between the ages of 2 and 11, the drugmaker said May 4.

3. Pfizer said May 4 that it will file for full FDA-approval of its COVID-19 vaccine by the end of this month. Read what that means for rollout here.

4. Moderna said April 29 it is increasing the manufacturing capacity for its COVID-19 vaccine and expects to produce up to 3 billion doses in 2022.
