Using data can make your practice more efficient, according to Scott McDade, McKesson Medical-Surgical's general manager of health systems.
He shared the following tip on McKesson Medical-Surgical's blog:
"The data can tell you a lot of things. It can tell you the past, and it can tell you what you should do in the future. In terms of the past, the data can show your system patterns in the way your nonacute care sites are using medical supplies and equipment. It can spot patterns of noncompliance with your formulary or your purchasing contracts. Both can add to your supply chain costs. In terms of the future, the data can show your system how to improve its supply chain performance. "
