ASC supply chains run more efficiently when they follow a set cycle, said Molly Ehrlich, Vizient's consulting director of advisory solutions for supply chain operations.
She shared the following supply chain tip with Becker's ASC Review:
Efficiency starts with performing supply logistics and distribution tasks according to a certain flow. This "distribution supply chain circle" dictates activities should occur in the following order:
1. Put away all incoming orders.
2. Pick and distribute all internal replenishments.
3. Perform replenishment activities for main storage location.
Following a flow versus performing activities ad hoc ensures maximum supplies efficiency and availability.
