ASC supply chain leaders should look at the top 25 percent of costliest inventory items and evaluate whether purchasing in a low measure would deliver better long-term results, according to Quorum Purchasing Advantage Vice President Tony Bramer.
ASCs should pay special attention to intraocular lenses and endoscopic products, he said. Mr. Bramer shared the following tip with Becker's ASC Review:
"ASCs are typically ordering by box, and a lot of times, you can ask the vendor to ship at a lower level. That's what I would encourage ASCs to do — to see if they will break a box down, and if there's a cost associated with that."
