ASCs should minimize the number of different storage locations for the same item, said Molly Ehrlich, Vizient's consulting director of advisory solutions for supply chain operations.
She shared this with Becker's ASC Review:
When possible, there are no additional storage locations for the item —especially for low use, expiration dated items. ASCs should think of having a hub and spoke supply storage system where the hub is the primary (and incoming) storage location for every item," she said.
