mTuitive, which develops data capture and synoptic reporting software to assist healthcare professionals in recording clinical findings and maintaining compliance with established protocols and guidelines, has announced it has added Katherine S. Rowell to its board of directors, according to an mTuitive news release.
Ms. Rowell is the founder and principal of Katherine S. Rowell & Associates, which aims to teach and advise organizations how to correctly capture and manage their healthcare data. She was responsible for rolling out National Surgical Quality Improvement Program to more than 300 hospitals in the United States and Canada. NSQIP collects data on clinical variables for surgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
"Kathy isn't just a great proponent of capturing healthcare data — she is the greatest proponent for it," said John Murphy, mTuitive's CEO and founder, in the release. "Kathy brings a knowledge about effective data capture and research that is unparalleled in the field. Coupled with her experiences working with some of the biggest initiatives in quality reporting, Kathy has unique insight and perspective that is starting to reshape modern medical care and research."
Ms. Rowell was also responsible for establishing Massachusetts General Hospital's Codman Center for Clinical Effectiveness in Surgery, which encourages surgical outcomes research.
