ASC management software company Mednet has launched a new tool for ophthalmology ASCs to run the full IOL tracking process, according to a Mednet news release.
The new tool is available within the existing ASC management software OASIS or the stand-alone inventory management software MIRA, according to the report. The tool allows ASCs to upload lens information, including item number, serial number, lot number, diopter and expiration date, as well as scan or enter the implant serial number during or after the procedure.
The system can also create a "bill and replace" order with a separate line item for each lens used with the item number, serial number, lot number, diopter and expiration date. The order can then be faxed, e-mailed or sent through EDI.
"We are continuing to boost our products by covering every small niche requirement that our ASC clients desire," said Rajesh Tuli, CEO of Mednet, in the release. "The new features will enhance the process of tracking implants, manage consignment items and the process of consignment reorder."
