A new study found no difference in the efficacy of high and low dose corticosteroids for shoulder pain, according to a Science Daily report.
Researchers gave 79 patients with at least one month of pain a 40 mg dose of triamcinolone acetonide, a 20 mg dose or a placebo injection. The two groups given corticosteroids reported improvement, but no difference was found. The group given the placebo reported no improvement The study is set to be published in the December issue of the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
