Nanoparticles May Improve Arthritis Pain Treatment

Researchers at Bend Research announced the developed nanoparticles that can deliver pain medication to the inside of the knee and keep it there longer, according to an International Business Times report.

The five-year study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, looks at how nanoparticles can be used to deliver slow-releasing pain medication to the inside of the knee. Researchers hope the technology would allow the 30 million Americans who have osteoarthritis to get injections every few months instead of every week to manage pain.
