Mayfield Spine Surgery Center was developed in 2007 by a group of neurosurgeons at the Mayfield Clinic, both based in Cincinnati.
Here are five things to know about the surgery center:
1. The surgery center is equipped with three operating rooms, one pain procedure suite and eleven preoperative and postoperative patient rooms.
2. Since opening, physicians at Mayfield Spine Surgery Center have performed more than 33,000 surgeries.
3. Mayfield Spine Surgery Center is a partnership between the Mayfield Clinic and United Surgical Partners International, a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. It is one of the first free-standing outpatient spine surgery centers in the Midwest.
4. Forty-five percent of the surgeries performed at the outpatient center are discectomies or decompressions, followed by spinal fusions, 30 percent.
5. Additional surgeries offered to patients include kyphoplasty, pain stimulator implants and pain pump implants.
