Huntington, W. Va.-based St. Mary's Regional Joint Replacement Center began offering total knee replacement procedures using the Journey II XR bi-cruciate retaining total knee system, the Herald Dispatch reports.

1. Vivek Neginhal, MD, performed what is believed to be the first robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery using the Journey system in the world.
2. The Journey system is unique in that it allows for the retention of the anterior cruciate ligament.
3. Smith & Nephew manufactures the Journey system.
