Enterprise, Ala.-based Southern Bone and Joint Specialists plans to re-open a clinic in Andalusia, Ala., that closed several years ago, according to an Andalusia Star News report.
Four key notes:
1. The practice previously had a clinic in Andalusia where the specialists rotated one day per week. However, the location closed seven or eight years ago, according to the report, and Andalusia-based patients traveled to Enterprise for their care.
2. Due to the high volume of patients from Andalusia that traveled for care at Southern Bone and Joint Specialists, the group decided to re-open a satellite clinic over the next few months. The practice is aiming for a March open.
3. The surgeons plan to see patients at the new location, and they would be open to performing surgeries in Andalusia in the future. Previously, the surgeons could see patients in the morning and perform outpatient procedures the same day.
4. Southern Bone and Joint Specialists includes three orthopedic surgeons and a board-certified physician assistant focused on arthritis treatment as well as other injuries and conditions affecting shoulders, hips and knees.
