The University of Colorado Hospital's Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute in Aurora broke ground on a 135,000-square-foot expansion project, which will nearly triple the size of the eye center.
The expansion is projected to be complete by the fall of 2014.
The Anschutz Foundation donated $4 million to the expansion project efforts and $2.5 million to the CU School of Medicine's ophthalmology research program.
