UC San Francisco opens new ophthalmology center

The University of California San Francisco opened a new eye center, according to a Nov. 9 press release.

The Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision is the new home to many of UCSF's eye care and research programs, the release said. Patient services include general ophthalmology, glaucoma care, LASIK surgery and ocular oncology care.

The center is expected to bring together multiple disciplines related to eye care and build collaborations, the release said.

"We believe that this will allow UCSF to lead the way in the discovery of exciting new therapies," said Stephen McLeod, MD, chair of ophthalmology at UCSF.
