Pediatric Patients Could Benefit From Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery

Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery could be a promising approach for treating pediatric patients, according to a Healio report.
The laser technology has been used in pediatric eyes for anterior and posterior capsulotomy, according to Ocular Surgery News Europe Edition Associate Editor H. Burkhard Dick, MD.  Femtosecond lasers allow a surgeon to have less trouble with the unpredictable rhexis diameter and the extreme elasticity of the capsule.
