Ophthalmologist Christopher Girkin, MD, has named to the editorial board of Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, the official journal of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, according to a news release.
Dr. Girkin is a professor and the chair of the department of ophthalmology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also director of the UAB Glaucoma Service and Optic Nerve Imaging Center and chief medical officer for the UAB Callahan Eye Hospital.
Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science publishes online several times a month. ARVO describes itself as the "largest eye and vision research organization in the world."
