Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA Health System and the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles have signed a letter of intent to create a long-term affiliation.
Under the current agreement, both centers would retain their identity and mission while combining clinical operations for greater patient care access. The centers seek to create a national preeminent center for ophthalmic care, research and education. Negotiations will continue indefinitely.
US News & World Report ranked Jules Stein Eye Institute No. 5 and Doheny Eyes Institutes No. 9 for ophthalmology, based on feedback from other ophthalmology specialists.
