Marcus Muallem, MD, of Grand Rapids (Mich.) Ophthalmology, has implanted the iStent Trabecular micro-bypass stent, which is the smallest medical device to hold FDA approval, according to a grbj.com report.
The iStent Trabecular micro-bypass stent, from Laguna Hills, Calif.-based device company Glaukos, is designed to relieve pressure in the eye of open-angle glaucoma patients.
Dr. Muallem is fellowship trained in cornea and glaucoma procedures.
