The New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, led by its president Cecily Lesko, MD, has successfully campaigned for New Jersey legislation that will require health plans and insurance companies to provide patients with coverage for early refills of eye drops.
The legislation requires coverage of eye drop refills at 70 percent of the predicted days of use. The bill will take effect in August.
Dr. Lesko, board-certified ophthalmologist, is a partner of North Jersey Eye Associates.
