HCA announced William B. Rutherford will become CFO and Executive Vice President of the company beginning Jan. 1, 2014.
Mr. Rutherford will succeed R. Milton Johnson as CFO when Mr. Johnson becomes the company's President and CEO at the end of the year. Current CEO Richard M. Bracken announced his retirement at the end of 2013 earlier this year.
Mr. Rutherford has experience in the hospital, outpatient and behavioral health sectors. He currently serves as COO of HCA's Physician Services Group. In his new role, Mr. Rutherford will have management responsibility for the company's Treasury Department, Office of the Controller, Information Technology, Government Programs and Strategic Resource Group.
He previously served as HCA's CFO of the Outpatient Services Group.
